Teaching Resources for Environmental Education on Sustainability (TREES) – ALP-ES
ALPHA School of English

COURSE SUMMARY:
A five day course to an approach that integrates language learning, creative thinking and social responsibility in a way that enables learners to relate to environmental issues to their own lives. Building a solid foundation for learners to be responsible, global citizens in the future.

Never has there been a more important time to tackle the environmental issues that we are all facing. As global citizens we have a collective responsibility to act now to save our precious planet - our one true home - and as educators we have a bigger responsibility to give the students in our care the information, and the voices, they need to build a brighter, more sustainable future on Earth.

COURSE OUTCOMES:
This TREES training course aims to provide you with quality materials, ideas and experiences so that you can gain the necessary knowledge and skills to be able to deliver relevant learning episodes on the topic of the environment, both on a local and on a global scale. Sharing good practice and ideas with your peers from around the globe will create a richer experience, and who knows, you may be able to set up international links and environment projects together to make a real sustainable difference. We will support you to:
- collate information;
- learn important environmental vocabulary;
- contact local and international environmental agencies and organisations;
- and create innovative student-centred resources that have a low carbon impact on the planet, yet at the same time inspire the adults of tomorrow to become more globally conscious.
