CLIL: An Introduction for Primary Teachers – ATC-CLI
ATC Language Schools

This course was developed as an introduction to the content and language integrated approach to education. It is designed for Primary teachers who would like to use CLIL methodology to teach school subjects through English. This is a very practical course that gives Primary teachers the opportunity to gain new teaching ideas, tips and strategies for teaching their subjects through English. Practical ideas for classroom management, teaching strategies, lesson planning and material development will be applied to a variety of subjects across the curriculum with a focus on Sports, Maths, Science and Art through English. Teachers will be encouraged to share their own ideas and experiences, and will be given the oppportunity to collaborate on tasks to create their own resources and put the theory into practice. Finally, the course will look at assessment in CLIL and help teachers think about how they might approach formative and summative assessment of their students’ learning.

This course is suitable for primary teachers required to teach their subject through English, either partially, or fully.
